More than two decades ago when I opened POOLMART, I decided to take a different tack than the rest of my competition. At that time water chemistry was a hit and miss "bgaswh" proposition. (Best guess and see what happens") It was "dump this in and let's see." Advice from nearly everyone. I decided that I would take it to the next level and find out the causes of the problem rather than just trying to cover up the symptoms. In other words, it dawned on me that cloudy water, algae, funky odors, and itchy skin were caused by something. Let's find that something and fix it so the causes and the symptoms would go away and cease to return.
We have tried over the years to stay on the leading edge of all the technology that has sometimes flooded this industry. Most of the time it has merely been a re-invention of the proverbial wheel. It seems that every 6 to 8 years someone re-discovers some magic elixir or device that is going to revolutionize pool care (and make them a fortune) ignoring the fact that it was discarded numerous times decades previously. But there's always a new generation of buyers that have never seen this gizmo before and are willing to spend their money on "Dr. Feel Good's Magic Elixir". Our duty to you as our customers is to protect you as best as we can. If it works... We'll carry it. If it doesn't work and you want it, we'll tell you it doesn't work and order if you insist. We're not stupid ... We'll take your money if you insist.
The point is if you see something magical and too good to be true, ask before you spend your hard earned money. There's probably a good reason we don't carry it.
