Filter Maintenance

Diatomaceous Earth Filters

Backwash: When pressure goes up 10 psi
                  typically every 4 to 6 weeks

Cleaning:  End of season, soak grids in a filter cleaner
                 bath, lube all o-rings when re-assembling the
                 filter if you would like more info, contact us

Replace:   After each Backwash, add new D.E.  


Cartridge Filters

Cleaning: Disassemble Filter as  needed, typically
                monthly, soak in Proteam Filter Magic
                overnight, Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry
                before putting cartridge back in the canister. 
 

Replace:  Cartridge every 1 to 2 years.
Sand Filters

Backwash: When pressure goes up 10 psi
                  typically every week

Cleaning:   Use 6 oz. Proteam Filter Magic once a month
                  while backwashing. For further instructions,
                  contact us.  

Replace:   Change the sand at least every 3 years
